Dr. Onyema Ogbuagu is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Pharmacology at Yale School of Medicine and Director of the Yale Antivirals and Vaccines Research Program. He is a global leader in infectious diseases research and medical education, with extensive experience in curriculum development and capacity building in Rwanda and Liberia. Dr. Ogbuagu has led numerous clinical trials on HIV and COVID-19, including pivotal studies on PrEP and mRNA vaccines. He has trained Liberia’s first Infectious Diseases physician and continues to mentor healthcare professionals in low-resource settings. His work is advancing global health equity through innovative research and education.
